If you were to google felt rose tutorial, you’d probably come up with 50. I’m not for sure because I didn’t do it. I made these by my own trial and error.
~~~
I found this fantastic red felt at the thrift store…over a yard for $.70! Don’t believe me?? Take a look!
I snatched it up and took off running!
~~~
I traced and cut out, what seemed like a thousand, circles.
I used a red sharpie because #1. it’s all I could find which turned out perfect for #2. shows up just enough to see where to cut so no line marks on my roses!
You can make your circles any size you like. The larger the circle, the larger the rose, of course. I used 8 felt circles for each rose, 1 for the base and 7 for the petals. You can use more if you want to. But that’s just more circles to cut out, haha!
~~~
Start with 2 circles and overlap one over the other, not quite half way. Secure with hot glue (you’ll be using ALOT of glue).
Fold them in half and start rolling, somewhat tight, securing with hot glue.
The top of your bud should look like this:
And the base of your bud should look like this:
Now take another circle and attach your bud to the center with glue.
Grab another circle and fold it in half.
Run a line of hot glue down the crease.
Attach it around your bud, as close as you can get it.
Continue this step for each of the remaining circles, working your way around the bud.
Trim off any excess from your base…
and you’re done! You can fluff your petals if you like!
Stay tuned! I can’t wait to show you where I put mine!
Can't wait to see where you put them! I'd put a dozen of them clustered together in the corner of a charcoal gray felt pillow. But I don't have a charcoal gray felt pillow... so the project would come to a halt.
They're adorable!!!!
Great job...not sure I could make this work!
Those are perfect!
So pretty!!!
Wow, these are beautiful, and what a great tip using a sharpie the same color as the fabric! That could be so useful for lots of crafts.
Love it! There are a million ways to make flowers and I like seeing all of them for some variety. Yours look fabulous! Thanks for sharing.
These are so lovely. Just wanted to say thank you so much for this craft project. I'll make tons of these roses and attach them to my niece's hair accessories. I think that will be awesome. She will surely love my creation.
