And I found the frame at Dollar Tree. I saw them many times on other blogs and went on the hunt for some. I bought 4! Not for the frame, but for the scrollys in the corners!I pried them off (it was NOT easy! I broke one in the process, sniff sniff) and glued them on the tissue box. Painted the whole thing white, then used my Ralph Lauren Smoke Glaze.
I couldn’t decide whether I wanted it painted antique white or painted black with bronze highlights. I went with the white because it would be much easier to paint over if I didn’t like it!
(It looks a little pink in the picture but it’s just the RED wall reflecting off of it.)
Now for some reason, the cardboard tissue box did NOT fit in the wooden one! I thought it was supposed to. So I just took the tissues out of the cardboard box and placed them in my new one (it opens from the bottom).
A FEW TIPS:
1. When I paint something small like this, I paint it on a pizza box (or something similar) because it has a wax coating. My project doesn’t stick to it like it would to newspaper.
2. When using the Ralph Lauren glaze, you must work FAST! Or else it will set and look blotchy.
3. I am using Windows Live Writer to write this post. Why did I not know about this sooner!! It makes it so easy to write a post, add pictures, resize them, move them where you want…. Love it! It was already on my computer and didn’t know it! But you can also download it here.

Soooooooooooooooooo cute!!! I have yet to find a tissue box that fits the decorative tissue boxs. LOL Its not like they come in a ton of different sizes, right? Thanks for sharing@ Hugs, Tara
I bought something today that I'm going to try using your white paint/glaze techique. Wish me luck. This project turned out great.
Really really cute! I'm going to have to go to Dollar Tree now (my husband thanks you... kidding.)
Hey Girlies! I am awarding you with the "Beautiful Blogger" award. Congrats! Check out my blog!

Cute! I think it looks great and so elegant. Much better than the boxes that the tissues come in!
Love it. I stuff my kleenex away cause they just don't go with decor! Yours is beautiful!
I need one of these! My son HATES having anything at all on/in/around his nose so we always have tissue boxes strategically placed throughout the house. I hate they way they look. I am off to Michaels as soon as I can get there to try this! Thanks for sharing!
Very cute and stylish! Now you will smile, even if your sickly nose is protesting against the tissue use!
These turned out great! I just found your blog and it's adorable!
Have a great night!

Great idea! I hate plain looking tissue boxes! Yours has some real character!
Blessings, Grace
Seriously loving the scrolly things! I never noticed them before at Dollar Tree but I am heading there tomorrow & we'll see if I can pry a few off myself! I have some wooden canister boxes I may have to attach them to...hmmmm...very vintage looking tissue box. Love it!
