Black and White Scrolls Dresser

This is the dresser that my Mom and I both used as little girls. It has always been white with gold trim. But NOT any more! This dresser got a major update! I was re-doing my daughters bedroom and I wanted the dresser in black and white, now all I needed was some inspiration!Makaylas dresser 3 So I started looking at scrapbook paper to get ideas and I LOVED this one!scrapyourtrip So I pulled the drawers about of the dresser and painted every thing black, and painted the drawer fronts white. When it was dry I took a black paint pen and went at it…yes free hand. (I’m sorry I don’t have a pattern or some thing I could give you)

I changed a few details from the scrap book paper to fit our needs and likes…but it was that simple! We get many compliments on this dresser! Its no longer Mom and Grandmas old dresser!

Wow! I had that same white furniture growing up and we sold it in our last move! After seeing what you did with yours I'm starting to regret that decision! What an amazing transformation and I love the detailing!

I think this is the first time I've seen scrapbook paper used as an inspiration instead of attached to an item. Lucky you're so artistic.

Wow! That is beautiful! I love the design you used for inspiration and the design you did to make it yours. I am so jealous of your free-hand talent!

You did an AMAZING job! (and I paint furniture for a living.) I get a lot of great inspiration from scrap book papers as well and this design is a beauty. You used it perfectly on this piece. Very nice work!

I love it!!! I might do something similar when I repurpose a dresser for my craft room...though I think I won't be able to do the freehand thing, so I'll try using an overhead projector and tracing instead. Thanks for posting - wicked job, ladies!!

This looks almost exactly like the bedroom suite I had growing up, and when you got done with it, I never would have recognized it! Amazing!

I have very similar furniture as yours! I have a desk and dresser that I wanted to repaint. Did you have to sand it? Or did you just repaint all over it? Because I don't want to sand it unless it's necessary. But I love the black and white and of course your talented free-hand artwork!!!! I was just going for stencils and add silver to give it a shabby-chic look
